Pangea LNG B. V. is in the initial stages of identifying opportunities for deployment of floating LNG (FLNG) technology in the territorial waters of Mozambique on the southeast coast of Africa.
Stranded natural gas has been discovered at several locations where connection to onshore facilities appears to be impractical and reserves will support an FLNG solution. This includes discovery areas in sections of the South Rovuma concession.
Natural gas deposits in Mozambique are seen as an extension of the East African Rift Valley trend. Companies involved in initial exploration have identified substantial recoverable reserves in Mozambique waters.
