Natural gas is a clean burning fossil fuel that can be condensed to a liquid state when cooled to -260°. Thus appropriately named liquefied natural gas (LNG). LNG takes up about 1/600th the volume of natural gas in the gaseous state, which makes it easier to store and transport to areas of the world that are not situated near gas fields.
LNG facilities have traditionally been land-based, however Pangea and their innovative partners are re-working existing technologies to employ them in floating applications. Floating Liquefied natural gas (FLNG) is a vessel-based facility designed to enable the development of offshore natural gas resources. Gas, direct to the FLNG vessel from the field, is processed, liquefied, stored & then offloaded to an LNG carrier. With a modular design, Pangea provides solutions for floating, land based, and a hybrid application utilizing a combination of floating and land based elements.
